GYSEV’s Corporate Social Responsibility focuses on achieving improvement in the following three areas.
One of the most important objectives of GYSEV is the improvement of traffic safety together with awareness-raising. The company pursues this goal in an organized way and makes sure that all age groups are addressed. For us it is important that we, as the operator of a dangerous business, draw attention to conscious and safe traffic behaviour. For this purpose, we organize company visits for preschool children and schoolchildren and also offer them an opportunity to try out a traffic park, where they can learn under simulated conditions how to travel safely by road and rail. We also organize regular campaigns in which we draw attention to the safe crossing of level crossings, the differences between rail traffic signs in different countries and how accidents can be avoided. All of this is in our common interest, because regardless of how we take part in traffic, accident-free and conscious behaviour is always a common interest.
Another important goal for us is maintaining the health of our employees. In addition to the regular mandatory medical examinations, we strive to provide our employees an opportunity for annual screenings tests in order to support them in maintaining their health and ability to work. The company offers spa stays, free medical care and the purchase of glasses at reduced prices. In the future, we would like to supplement the range of physical treatments by offering opportunities for spiritual and mental refreshment.
The third pillar of our CSR is knowledge transfer. Besides appreciating the knowledge and experience of our older employees, we also make sure that we leave room for the younger generation. We are always looking for the appropriate forums, resources and methods that help to exchange individual experiences and to integrate new approaches. This goal is supported by our internship program - we offer fresh graduates professional support from our employees and await them with different trainings and an annual career plan. Our in-house seminars offer insight into the various specialist areas of the company. We strive for collective knowledge, because given the company’s size, a comprehensive vision is essential to remain competitive next to the Hungarian State Railways MÁV and other cross-border railway companies.
